Averroes, also known as Ibn Rushd, was a prominent medieval philosopher, theologian, jurist, and physician who made significant contributions to philosophy, theology, and jurisprudence. Born in Cordoba, Spain, in 1126, Averroes lived during the height of the Islamic Golden Age. They played a crucial role in transmitting and interpreting ancient Greek philosophy, particularly the works of Aristotle, to the Western world.
